Our new CD "A Kiss from Rio" is coming out May 10, 2013! Here is a look at the cover and back:
O Som Do Jazz is performing on the 3rd concert of the St. Petersburg Jazz Festival! We will be at the Side Door venue of the Palladium Theater. It's a nice cabaret seating space with berr & wine available.
We will have th efull 7-piece band there, performing favorites and some new songs from our upcoming CD, "A Kiss for Rio."
For more information about the St. Petersburg Jazz Festival, see http://www.articulatesuncoast.com/blogs/music
Our second CD is in the final stages of mixing and we are delighted! 9 of the 13 selections are originals and featured bossa nova, MPB and northeastern-style music. Four of the selections have already been listed in our licensing affiliate in L.A.
Two of our songs from "Infinita Bossa" are going to be included in a bossa nova compilation CD released by High Note Records, based in Taiwan!
We are finally finishing up the recording! It has 13 songs and 9 are originals. It should be available by early December.
Three songs are being considered for TV usage from our associates in L.A. We'll keep our fingers crossed!
Thanks for all of our fans who came to the Palladium Side Door on July 8 to hear O Som Do Jazz! We sold out the venue and the director wants us back in the fall.
Thanks to all of our fans who attended the concerts at the Catherine Hickman Theatre and the Palladium Theatre Side Door and sold out both venues! We had a great time and look forward to seeing you at our next concert.

We had a wonderful time performing in Gulfport at the Catherine Hickman Theatre on Sunday, July 24!
Gulfport is a very special town with the historic Casino, a beach on the intercoastal, great restuarants and shops and best of all... its people. The theatre was sold out and we look forward to a return to Gulfport for another concert.
O Som Do Jazz performs in Gulfport on Sunday, July 24 for Oba Oba Bossa Nova! This will be at the Catherine Hickman Theatre at 4 PM.
The program includes our favorite Brazilian songs by Tom Jobim, Baden Powell, Toquinho and Moacir Santos plus some original selections form our upcoming CD to be released in October.
Gulfport is a very hip and funky town with great restaurants and a wonderful public dock leading out into the intercoastal. There's even a sandy beach near the historic Casino.
Come join us for the concert and then relax in beautiful Gulfport!
On Saturday, July 24 - quartet version of O Som Do Jazz will be playing at a new venue in downtown Dunedin called the Cafe Cabana. It is a very nice craft wine & beer cafe owned by the Casa Tina folks... perhaps the best Mexican restaurant in the Tampa Bay area. We will be performing outside on a deck area covered with trees. We will cover our favorite bossa nova & samba tunes, as always.
I hope to see some long-lost classmates from Dunedin High School... as long as they don't remind me how thin I used to be!
